Caddington Village School

Vision, Values & Ethos

Our pupils are the heart of everything we do: safeguarding is of paramount importance and children can expect to learn in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. We are proud to be federated with Slip End Village School, with a highly-skilled staff team across the Federation, together with a joint Senior Leadership Team and Governing Body, dedicated to giving every child the best possible life chances.

Pupils at Caddington Village School attain well and make good progress. At the end of Key Stage 2, pupils perform above the national average in all core subjects. High importance is placed on emotional wellbeing and children develop greater awareness of their strengths and needs through the school's bespoke 'SELF' initiative. This teaches them to become independent and resilient learners through developing their self-awareness, self-esteem, self-control, self-motivation, self-sufficiency and self-reflection.

We are proud of the range of diverse facilities that we offer, which sets us apart from other primary schools. We have purpose-built, fully-equipped labs for Science, Design Technology, Food Technology, Music and Art. The school also comprises of a dedicated Early Years Foundation Stage building and outside area, an on-site Pre-School, a 5-star rated dining facility and extensive playing fields for all ages.

Our school is at the heart of the community; we strive to establish genuine and effective relationships with our families and be an open and welcoming place. Weekly themes and a half-termly focus help to embed British Values throughout our school and our involvement with community events promotes a collaborative community approach to pupil learning.

An innovative and forward-thinking attitude to educational research sets Caddington apart from other schools. Staff are encouraged to reflect deeply on their own teaching and professional development, and to observe and learn from each other, in order to continually improve and evolve the way that they are able to meet the differing needs of our pupils.  The school has received acclaim for its work with Lesson Study, a form of classroom-based teacher research, and national press coverage for the Flurrish times tables app.

Caddington Village School is a school which pupils and staff are proud to be a part of. We strive to deliver a wide and varied curriculum both in and out of the classroom where every individual is encouraged, impassioned and empowered to reach their potential and thrive, academically, emotionally and socially. A wealth of opportunities is provided for pupils to develop key skills, promote physical and mental health and discover their talents, whilst equipping themselves with the tools needed to achieve happiness and success.

We look forward to sharing our school with you.
